Trade events
Trade Events are designed for Hotels, Public Houses and any other venue
where staff are expected to serve a selection of malt whisky.
Theses events can cover two types of requirement, or can
be combined;
- Training - The training of
bar, or other relevant employee, on the basics of malt
whiskies.
- Consultancy – To advise on the creation
or review of malt whisky provision as a specialised
on-sale
retail
opportunity.
Training
for staff
The emphasis of these events is whisky education so that
staff are better informed to advise customers on whisky
selection and also correctly serve the product.
The cost for Trade Events is
- £320 for materials & Stock
- £75 per hour plus expenses for training
- Plus VAT @ 17.5%
There is no minimum number of attendees but there is a
maximum of 15 persons per day.
Included within this cost is;

Loan of glasses for tasting
- Selection of whiskies for
sampling
- Tasting notes and course guides
- Presenter
Not included;
Consultancy
A licensed premises may be considering implementing a
specialised whisky bar or reviewing an existing service.
The cost for Consultancy is £75 per hour plus expenses & VAT.
Included with this cost is;

Report and review process with costs for decision makers.
- The development of bespoke written materials relating
to directly commissioned outcome.
E.g.: tasting notes and lists
Not included;

Any costs relating to printing and production of materials.
- Whisky
- Intellectual rights to any Hutcheson Whisky
Events proprietary material and / or information without
written consent.
Cancellations
Cancellation of either training or consultancy bookings will be subject to penalty.
1. Cancellations 30-60 days prior to booked date will attract a 50% cancellation fee
2. Cancellations within 30 days of booked date will attract a 100% cancellation fee
